This is my first blog in two years. During that time I’ve been writing a book. The book, The Camino and Me, is the story of my 790-kilometre walk across northern Spain in 2012. It has been an absolute labour of love. Now it is available through amazon in print and ebook editions.

Hi Mary,
Thank you for including me! As a mostly solo walker it has been refreshing reading the beginning of your blog/book. I guess I was lucky to start off with company, my father for the first day. A lot of the experiences you so bravely and frankly describe, I can identify with. The Camino was and still is for me a huge growing experience, especially the first one and learning to move outside of my comfort zone and enjoy my own company, as well as any company that might bless my path. Looking forward to reading more.

Hi Susan, delighted to hear from you. Your name will come into the frame about day 3 or 4.

Hi Mary,
Delighted to hear from you as well. Have you done anymore long walks post 2012? I have walked the Primitivo and this year I completed the Via Podiensis, 800 km from Le Puy En Velay
To St Jean Pied De Port, bussed to Santiago where I met up with my 86 year old father.
Looking forward to reading your posts.

Susan, I haven’t done any long walks since, although I had imagined I would, again and again. That said I found writing the book was like doing it over and over as I internally processed the experience through the refinement of the writing process. Glad to hear you are still enjoying the long walks and that your dad is part of it too. Mary
